Collapsing the universe?
If the universe is essentally a black hole with a mass greater than 25 billion galaxies and a Schwarzschild radius greater than the visible universe, then wouldn't it have to lose mass to collapse again? Isn't that impossible except via Hawking radiation? I had the idea that an event horizon allowed only one-way travel and communication. Therefore the black holes at centers of galaxies can only get bigger, and life as we know it is trapped between the them and the event horizon of the visible universe. The best metaphor might be that the universe is like a giant garbage compactor.
