I have a special edition of a magazine in french (Le Nouvel Observateur) with nothing but articles about the issue (called the Bible v Darwin).
There's also Lamarck's finalism which looks like evolution and also is easier to explain than darwinism.
(I'm not going to translate the whole magazine, but perhaps several quotes).
For instance: wild baby elephants carry a gene preventing growth of tusks. More and more are born with that gene. Why?
The question was asked in a university to try to find what was the most logical answer. The darwinian answer wasn't the most chosen.
Many answered: the tusks were of no use to elephants and becoming useless, they disappeared. Others remarked elephants were mutating to protect themselves from the hunters. Both answers are Lamarck oriented.
A darwinian answer is: hunters don't kill tuskless elephants, the mutants become more numerous within the elephant population and the gene preventing tusk growth, spreads.
ID isn't only un biology but also in astrophysics: like the belief life migrated from Mars and started there.
There's an article called "God's nightmare": the Universe has no goal to hope for nor causes to know.
More about it later...
