I had nothing BUT Fords for 15 years or so, and ended up with maintenance and parts issues every year or two. I've had a Toyota now for awhile and am really pleased with it's specs and performance, let alone the gas mileage. NO trips for repairs.
As I move northward to the mountains, I am considering a 4 wheel drive that will absolutely be only another Toyota or Honda.
As for buying American, I am becoming more aware of trying to give my business back to the American dream, but I also realize our set of tax laws exempts many of these corporations from putting much back into the country. Also, with their downsizing of workers and benefits, I'd say it's the CEO's and lawyers/lobbyists who are selling out America, and not the working class.
