You bet, more and more people are becoming increasingly frustrated with the way the NeoRepublicans have screwed up everything they've touched, and it's no surprise that the Neos are getting hammered at every opportunity on any issue that comes up. This is how we show our displeasure. This is what it looks like when the leaders lose the confidence of the people. The tipping point is past, the end is inevitable, and it's going to get worse.
The late-night comedians are the bellweathers of public opinion, and they haven't had so much fun in a good long time. You're trying to doggedly focus on substance, and you're completely missing the powerful symbolism of this incident. "Ready, fire, aim"...shooting wildly and hitting the wrong target. Rich Republican fundraisers on a private hunting ranch in Texas, privileged to hobnob with elusive Vice President; shooting at "canned" fowl; protected by the SS and equipped with a state-of-the-art mobile medical facility provided by the taxpayers. And the piece de resistance: the automatic impulse to secrecy, to try to cover up even when there's nothing that needs hiding (as far as we know so far). Cheney hid from the cops for 18 hours...is this real life or an episode of CSI:VIP?
We are having sooooooooooo much fun with this!
