The oh-so-enlightened leftist brigade - just a bunch of Charlie Browns

The news is current, political and topical. A good number of posters have expressed the desire to hear from conservatives about Bush and events in Iraq, as though we are supposed to chime in after every dart thrown here by the regulars at Bush and his administration.

Its only fair for me to expect the regulars here to comment on these events and (amazingly lucid for the LA Times) observations.

How many here were screaming in defense of "letting the UN deal with Saddam" and about "peacekeepers" being the answer to everything from the Israeli/Palestine conflict to babysitting Iraqis?

Too many to count. Now that the UN has been completely discredited as a viable organization capable of dealing with dictators, rogue nations or even responsibly handling peacekeeping abilities, these same folks are deafeningly silent and just step up their attacks against Bush.

The world desperately needed someone like Bush. He's reshaped European politics, Schroeder is now just a bad memory as are Libya's WMD aspirations.

Every night a million Afghan women say a prayer for George Bush, thanking him for their newfound freedoms. A man, woman or child can now listen to a radio in Kabul without having their ears cut off if discovered.

Yes my 'gang' is a great gang. They are saving the world from the left whose corruption and incompetence sew misery and suffering on a global scale and love business as usual. They have their foibles, they're a million miles from perfect yet they're still light years ahead of their Democrat counterparts.

The Lenins of the world were applauded by the left. When the Bolsheviks deposed the Tsar the Democrats were ready to greet the new 'democracy' in Russia. Nevermind that Russia and the US were allies and the Teddy Roosevelt himself brokered peace between Russia and Japan in 1905. Bolsheviks were rebels and rebels are always heroes in leftist mythology.

Even now we watch as folks here defend North Korea and Kim il Jung. The left never met a dictator it didn't like while simultaneously decrying the 'terror of morality'. Kim il Jung can't be a bad mass murderer exploiting the people - after all he hates George Bush - the man who deposed Saddam!

The leftists are mirrored by their beat ancestors from another generation - only without the style. The oh-so-sophisticated, oh-so-politically sensitive, oh-so-self-conscious, self assured yet neurotic, non-conformist group of enlightened and superior free souls - enchained to the maxims of hating Bush, decrying the military all while pursuing the irrepressible and irresponsible compulsion to satisfy their selfish desires.

The same selfish desires are found in any alcoholic cruising his Harley-Davidson to the local biker bar. The difference? The biker has no need to rationalize his selfish desires and escape mechanisms. Here we can be entertained by hundreds, if not thousands of oh-so-righteous, oh-so-indignant write-ups on the incompetence and evils of President Bush.

It seems these days its a race for Donald, Bowser, Eric, Jack, Laurie or you to post the latest regurgitated claptrap from the likes of the Seattle PI, NY Times or some other oh-so-enlightened media outlet who hire similar folks whose real motivations are defending their 'lifestyle' from the real or imagined jaundiced eye of conservatives.

That's fine. Half the entertainment of the HZ is watching the left pull a Charlie Brown racing up to kick Bush in the head - only to have his head jerked away at the last moment by an incompetent, falsifying, over-hyping media miscalculation.

Like Charlie Brown you all come back with the latest you've read and are racing down the field again.

Who'll be first to fall on their posterior tomorrow?

Good grief Charlie Brown - get a clue.
