All four, actually.

As for vision, he had a hell of a lot more than Kerry did.

Charisma, too. Admittedly, Kerry's not a very high bar to jump, but Bush was considered a lot more personally likeable by most people than either Kerry or Gore were.

Both candidates in 2004 had connections and money.

As far as money goes, Kerry had a lot more than Bush, representing almost the caricature of the elite rich, with multiple homes, a yacht, and vacations at exotic spots. With family wealth of over half a billion, if he had been elected, he would have been the third richest president in history after George Washington and John Kennedy. Of course, he is given a complete pass on this, and endless crap is thrown out about Bush's money.

As far as connections, Kerry shared the Massachussetts Senate seats with Ted Kennedy. Bush was the son of a former President.

Any more questions?

I'm trying to figure out what it is about Bush that drives even intelligent people almost literally up a wall.
