Sometimes REB and I have these side conversations where what we're really talking about is burying the hatchet and getting beyond all this partisan fighting. While we're in the midst of hissing and scratching we forget that we have more in common than divides us. And we usually end up agreeing that the politicians are doing this to us, by manipulating us into fighting to achieve two ends: 1) To get us to emotionally commit to a politician by getting into the habit of defending him/her, and thus make us loyal partisans; and 2) to distract us from the nasty things that they're up to. What we ought to be doing is always thinking for ourselves.
So, consistent with your anger at Bush and Republican politicians, consider also that getting mad at Republican people when we should be getting mad at the poiticians plays into their hands. Don't forget that RobertEB is one of us, and he's a lot closer than Dubya. He's standing right here, in fact, while we're talking about him...;-)
As Tom would put it, let's all join hands and sing "Kumbayaa"!
