Question from the first site;
"But why do temperatures there rise faster than on rest of planet?"
Greenhouse gasses act like a blanket, trapping in heat, otherwise the Earth would be a cold place.
If your house is warm, and you throw on more blankets, then you wouldn’t notice much change.
But if your house is cold and you throw on more blankets, you’ll notice a warm-up.
So perhaps Antarctica is a good place to keep tabs on Greenhouse gases(our Earthly blanket) for the changes would be more noticeable there. It is a great place to measure how much heat the air is trapping.

If we can avoid it, I wouldn’t want the Earth to be as warm as it was during the age of the Dinosaurs. During that time, there were no ice caps, the sea level was hundreds of feet higher than it is now, and the ocean surface around the equator practically boiled. Why was the Earth so hot back then. I think a lot of it was the positions of the Continents, which determines the ocean currents. I believe the ocean currents act like a big AC/Heater unit.
What science needs to answer is what effect is man having and how much of this is natural (Earth climate cycle, warming of the Sun, Continents moving, Ocean currents, etc…)
Regardless of if it is Natural or Manmade or more likely, some percentage of both, Humans should try to cut pollution as much as possible. We have been doing this, but there are more of us now, so we need to always improve. Hydrogen power would be great, if we can get it cleanly from water. That way we don't increase the amount of Earth's water.
We should also explore ways of controlling our environment. I would like to see NASA do some experiments with small solar shades. I volunteer Houston as a test subject. Let them cut the sunlight over Houston during the summer and see what happens. A cooler summer would be nice.
