He has a perfect right to recommend any books he wants to. Students have a perfect right not to read them.
If the complaining faculty didn't like his suggestions, they could have refused to promote them.
I'll be interested to see whether there is something else behind the sexual harrassment charge. In order to make such a charge stick, there needs to be something sexual and something harrassing involved, not merely some unpopular reader's advisory suggestions.
I love it that he thinks Maria Shriver (she's your state's First Lady, isn't she?) is the Left's equivalent to Rick Santorum. I am pretty sure she, unlike he, never kept a two-bedroom house in one state while living in another to compel the first state to pay cyberschool tuition for 6 children. Theft being such a Christian value, it's OK, though.
I also find it fun that the librarian is labelled as a Christian, but he himself labelled Jimmy Carter as a leftist. Has the man ever read any of the books that Carter has written? Christianity is at the heart of all of them, unlike, say, Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis by Bat Ye’or, whose heart is religious chauvinism. Why do we get to be Christian if we are on the right, but a Christian on the left is first, last and always a leftist?
