Behind the driver, with feet on either side, like a motorcycle
Unlike a motorcycle, you can drive this thing year-round, rain, snow, slush, freezing cold.
A second passenger wouldn't be comfortable on long hauls obviously, without frequent stops. But it amounts to a sizable cargo capacity for one driver. Could definitely fit all sorts of groceries, luggage, kitchen sink, etc. back there. Save about $1000 per year on gas, buy a big 50-inch DLP HDTV. It benefits other sectors of the economy that way, since people will have more money to spend on other things.
