Tom, I'm not contending that the author claims our administration are Nazis. He's simply using a metaphor to illustrate what can happen if good men and women stop being outraged at behavior that could easily lead to a repeat of those types of abuses. There is nothing at all wrong with that editorial technique and one cannot assume, if his intent was to get people enraged about events within our own country, that he was labeling anyone a Nazi.
I was actually amused that David used a strip that often takes blatant digs at the abuses of our administration to extract a message that I really didn't believe was the intent of the cartoonist.
One has to be blind to not see potential danger (even in our own democracy) of unchecked and unquestioned erosion of citizen rights in the name of security. We wouldn't have had to fight the Nazis in WWII and millions of Jews would still be alive if the citizens of Germany had stood up to the bullies at the onset. That's where the effective fight takes place, not after the mayhem has reached a peak as it did in the Holocost.
Yet, you and your minions put down any dissent and are derisive to those that question authority in our country. Hmm.
