One thing the Dems are dreading right now is that the war will still be going on in '08. Then it will be their problem. Of course, by then, even the Right will be convinced it's hopeless...or they'll be congratulating themselves for having won it.
I can sympathize with the way you express your political views, even when I don't totally agree with them. I'm old enough to remember when national debate was carried on in a more civil manner, but Vietnam and Watergate put an end to all that. The former made the Left fashionable and the latter made the Right determined to get even. It's gotten progressively worse ever since.
