Nice try. Bush and the Republicans increased the national debt by $4.9 trillion over two terms. Nothing to be proud of. In fact, it sucked.
But Obama stands to beat that number by a trillion dollars just in his first term alone.
His own budget predicts a debt of $20.82 trillion by 2016, which - if he is re-elected - would clock him in at a debt increase of about ten trillion dollars over his two terms, or over twice Bush's record.
