Liberals and their predecessors did not "invent" crime. But they did invent a social pathology that redefines it, and even encourages it. Think of all the times you've seen news footage of store and bank windows broken, TVs carried off, cars broken into and burned. Across the board, across different nations, what do you think their politics were?
And yes, these ideas long precede American leftism, or even Marxism. I've often used the term "Robin Hood Principle." How many centuries ago was that?
