I have been happy thinking perhaps I am delusional and overly concerned about a worst case scenario. To have articulated these concerns, and to have to recognize others fear the same trends and movement directions that I have been observing scares me into thinking I may be right. Sometimes it isn't comforting to be right!

It ain't no fun to be on the deck of the Titanic and see the iceberg ahead. Being an optimist by nature I take some comfort that others are on the deck looking at the same thing. This gives reason to hope the ship's officers can be influenced to steer around that hunk of ice and onto a better course.

The problem is to overcome inertia and hope the sunshine soldiers of the Bush camp haven't put us in the position where the ice can't be avoided.
