How one UFO purportedly photographed by the crew of Apollo 16 while
in lunar orbit turned into something less fantastic thanks to one guy doing
a little detective work:

In May, Ian Crawford, a researcher from University of London’s Birkbeck College
in the UK, said that when we send astronauts back to the Moon, they should be
on the lookout for alien artifacts there (can you say TMA-1?):

Ukranian astronomer Alexey V. Arkhipov is one of the few scientists spending
time and effort to studying the lunar surface for signs of ETI:

If you know where to look and ignore the more absurd UFO legends (Apollo 11
is one of the big ones in that category), you will find some serious and thoughtful
ideas on the subject:

And on a similar note, reports of Transient Lunar Phenomenon (TLPs)
go way back:

The Apollo astronauts may indeed have seen flashes of light and other "strange"
things (how does one define strange on an alien world being visited in person for
the first time?), but that does not automatically make them ETI. We still have
much to explore and understand about our Moon, to say nothing of the rest of
the Universe.
