Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX (another one of the Evil Rich who obviously has far more money than he needs), has provided about half of Tesla's funding.

I wonder how large of an APU (small combustion engine or turbine burning normal fuel, or fuel cell) would be required to "top off" the battery while cruising comfortably at highway speeds? The electric motor is 248 peak HP, but I don't know what it's turning out at cruise speeds.
