"It's a Wonderful Life" is a good one I hadn't thought of. The Bailey Building and Loan went out of its way to serve the community, and while their short-term bottom line might not have been as impressive as Potter's, you get the impression that, except for some rough spots, they're profitable enough, and you get the idea that fifty years from now, they'll still be around, and Potter's outfit won't.
There was "Hart to Hart" on TV, where the heroes were millionaire businesspeople jetsetters. In "Robots" Mel Brooks did the voice of a businessman (businessrobot?) with the right attitude, fighting a takeover by one who had the wrong attitude.
I didn't see "Rollover," but you brought to mind "Working Girl," where the good guys were financial wheeler dealers. Also I remembered Danny DeVito in "Other People's Money," which doesn't quite qualify, since he is the "bad guy," but during the movie he makes a remarkable speech that points out what he does is a vital part of the "creative destruction" process in business.
Given time, I should be able to think of more, but mostly in older movies I expect. I don't remember any movie about a noble businessman fighting crooked unions. It would have to be a LOT older than I am.
You cut the industry more slack than I would. I think it's ideology more than looking for the "easy villain."
As far as NIHIL's posts go, it's no sillier than the cartoon post you did on capitalism.
