re: Google Earth Impacts Science
This is a google earth Placemark for the old Saturn 5 test tower at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Ala. I stood on top of the southern tower to watch the first Saturn 5 test article roll out with a TV camera for a CBS program about the progress of the Apollo program in 1964. Wernher Von Braun was waiting at the base to talk to a reporter from CBS news and Walter Cronkite. I worked at the cable TV station at the Army missile school at near by Red Stone Arsenal. We were contracted by CBS just for that program. Needless to say I jumped at the chance when they asked for volunteers.
