re: As for election irregularities

"The fraud investigation has focused on the more than 70,000 people who registered to vote on election day, not the other 200,000-plus voters."

What a bunch of idiots allowing people to register on election day. Let's throw reams of paper at an overworked election board on it's busiest day and expect efficiency.

That article proved nothing Tom. Every study I've seen where Republicans are pushing for stronger voter ID requirements at polling places has found that abuses were rare and that the voters most hurt by the stronger laws are generally lower income and minority voters who were less likely to have driver's licenses and multiple forms of ID. Hmm, that generally benefits the Republicans more than the Democrats.

I just skimmed the article but I didn't see where the alleged fraud in that case was a benefit to the Democrat candidates or any particular party for that matter. That's the abuse I'm up in arms about.

Oh, by the way. Where did we ever come up with convicted felons not being able to vote? I can understand while they're incarcerated since it's their time of punishment but once they've paid their price to society what does that have to do with their interaction with their government? Let's remember that being a convicted felon does not mean you murdered or raped. It can mean you got caught with a bong, went way over the speed limit, or did some white collar crime.

What a bizarre country we live in.
