Hamas was a long time designated terrorist group by our state department, and today they are a recognized political party.
Hezbollah may not be your favorite organization, but then you are not a constituent. They are recognized as a political party in Lebanon and a democratically elected position in that government.
In Israel, the Irgun was classed as a terrorist group at one time and blew up the King David Hotel and killed a bunch of brits and eventually gave Israel one of their members as a founder of their country, David ben Gurion.
In this country, some of Mafia gained respectability and found it more profitable to go legit. The Bronfam family went legit and found the Seagrams Corporation.
Remember nothing is constant except change.
