Incompetence is survivable.

His social security, New Deal and entry into WWII are now "accepted" as inevitable and necessary when none of them were.

WWII forced women into the workplace.

Social Security will bankrupt the nation and has been its biggest $ drain.

New Deal was a glorified communist set up - fixed market prices - cheap labor for the government - and all wrapped up as a salve for an economic depression.

In the very short term everyone loves a loan shark cause he delivers quick cash.
Culturally & economically we're now paying the fiddler - oh, yeah...big time. The destruction of the family unit, the inability of one income to raise a family, 2 daycare generations of undereducated, immoral, insecure kids - all these can be touted as accomplishments of FDR.

And what of Europe? We never were in jeopardy, despite all propaganda to the contrary. How do the people we have saved or freed twice thank us? They despise us. They call us ignorant cowboys. They look down upon us as international criminals. Hitler would eventually die. Nazism would've died with him, since very few agreed with his philosophy and already one assassination attempt from people inside government had occurred. He would be a Stalin, and like Kruschev denouncing Stalin, Hitler's replacement would have denounced Hitler.

Probable outcomes would be the elimination of France, Poland and Austria as nations. A unified Germany with people speaking various languages. Instead, now 50 years later, we have a handful of European countries that offer up a portion of their sovereignity and currency, voluntarily doing what Hitler was doing at the point of a gun because he was power-mad - namely creating a large single European state!

Saving folks from their own messes is a big mistake. They never have the chance to learn. Saving France, Belgium, England, etcetera twice has only increased their natural weakness in the face of strong adversaries. They are nations of compromisers running from conflict and their enemies exploit their weakness. Their cities become refuge for the cruelest tyrants and moral equivalence and exploitation for a buck is the universal language.

FDR threatened Japan, when Japan was friendly to us. His blustery appointees threatened to "wipe Japan off the seas in two weeks" should conflict ever arrive. They did everything possible to get Japan to declare war on us. They practically invited December 7, 1941. They used the foulest racial denegration and depicting Japanese people as "monkeys".

The facts: Japan in 1940 was the ONLY nation that paid ALL its debts to us! ALL EUROPEAN nations had defaulted on debts and refused to pay. Japan in 1941 was ALREADY our biggest CUSTOMER. Bigger than England, France, Germany or anyone else and was a friendly trading partner responsible for much US prosperity.

Oh, yeah..FDR did a number on the Japanese people who were our allies and capped it off with a few atomic bombs. And who today is the US most reliable, good mannered and honorable ally despite the fact that FDR set them up? The Japanese people!

And what of Japan in China? What would come of it? Could it have turned out any worse than Belgian Congo? Could it have been any worse than MAO and the cultural revolution? I doubt it. It's very likely that a vast portion of China would still live in a Democratic state had we never waged war on Japan and deaths caused by Japan would be balanced by even greater deaths caused by Mao.

Even the empowerment of the USSR was only possible by our entry into WWII. Its quite possible the Soviets would've claimed Poland and kept it and left it at that. Instead they got East Germany and a handful of East European nations at the same time.

Any way you slice it WWII was a failure for the US. Propagandists have spent the past fifty years whitewashing FDR, and proclaiming WWII a great and needed effort - but his stench still reeks and the results of WWII speak for themselves. Churchill was an incompetent alcoholic who was in cahoots with FDR to exploit the US to make up for Britains massive diplomatic, military and social incompetence. And yet he is revered by some? For what? For pulling America into a war that the Brits and French started by being petty, greedy nations.

Hitler came into power solely because of French and British war reparations. Our "allies" could write off US debts and refuse to pay - but would not extend the same courtesy to the German people. And boy did their pettiness cost them and US so MUCH more!

Extrapolate all the results of WWII and you see how the west was forever weakened. After WWII - the Middle East and Africa became the playground of the French sadists and inspired a generation of anti-western sentiment among Muslims, who previously had little opinion on the west either way. Then when France pulled out, half of Algeria went with them destroying France as it used to exist and introducing strong anti-semitism again to the fore.

"Vietnam" would never have happened because their would be no French soldiers to exploit the Vietnamese!

Castro would never have gained power in Cuba without a resource-heavy USSR empowered by post WWII German rocket builders.

WWII brought about Israel, and the past fifty years have showed the complete failure and folly of that settlement. The Muslims now had a reason to hate America, Britain and the west.

And now we pay the price.

So much stupidity.

Ah yes, FDR, a great man - the man who helped to destroy the future of the United States and unravel the modern world. "Save" X number of people and sacrifice X2 as a result.
