"...one which is spoken with pride in proper pronunciation. The tone is crisp and clear, sounding each phonic syllable and letter as perfectly as possible."
...and well spoken.
I find some varieties of American speech, Western, Midwestern, Louisiana Cajun, rural black dialect, "Native American", very pleasant to the ear, even beautiful. Others, such as urban "Ebonics", Southern Drawl, New York City, Rural Redneck, or LA or Miami Spanglish, make my flesh crawl like fingernails scraping on a blackboard. How much of this like or dislike is purely a matter of esthetics, and how much is a subconscious reaction to the speaker's culture is not clear.
I don't consider myself a racist, but I am an unrepentant snob as well as a proud cultural chauvinist. Some people ARE better than others. I just don't think they were born that way, they were brought up that way.
