Maybe you know the answer to this.
Why are gang bangers always portrayed as firing their (semi-automatic)handguns sideways, held parallel to the ground? This might make sense if you're a southpaw, but for a right-handed shooter it almost guarantees you'll get a hot shell casing in your eye.
