I can only imagine the impact of the JFK assissination on an American especially of your generation. However, that is one person, one political figure (regardless of how significant), one political assissination. Against that we have WTC which is terrorism, deliberate mass murder, of thousands. And all those who fell in Vietnam, and all those in WW1. Unknown to us as individuals, and even nameless in many cases. But they are us, as were those in the WTC. I'd say your instincts are spot on, and not to be too concerned about your detachment over the JFK assissination.
