Hmmm...I confess I switched off after about twenty minutes; made a point of seeing through the famous scene in which we get our first glimpse of a Romulan (and it's Sarek!).
The other thing I relied on beyond what I could judge by seeing is that they didn't promo it to the point of clinical dehydration. If it was the newly-remastered reeengineered CGI HD Star Trek, wouldn't you shout the news to the heavens? Not a peep, just roll the DVD, cut to the shrieking used car and monster-truck-rally commercials at arbitrary moments...the signature KBHK UHF style.
Oh yeah, and the music: Mono, and I was on a digital channel, with headphones. Nothing like the promos you linked.
I dunno, Tom, I have some serious doubts...or, I'm going to be seriously disappointed by TOS-2.0. Under the circumstances, you'll forgive me (not for the first time) for hoping you're wrong.
