I'm noticing more and more accusations from members such as REB, SDAI, and of course our prolific Tom Brosz, that the other side of the debate are simply Bush bashing and straying away from the issues.
BUSH IS THE ISSUE. You political lightweights need to get this through your head. All the other issues would take care of themselves if the Republican Party, of which Bush is the reigning political head, weren't on a crash course to try to take total idealogical control of this country. They aren't trying simply to have a greater voice in the debate. They want it all and seem to be capable of playing any card, regardless of the ethical implications, to get it.
The type of political bullying we're seeing these days from the Republicans is reminscent of the McCarthy era. That spector deserves bashing of the political leader responsible. There is no grey area here. None of us who demand the removal of this pinhead believe he's the sole problem only that the buck stops with him and the accountability falls directly on his shoulders.
I heard yesteday a Mideast expert talking about an odd experiece he's been having as of late. It seems he's been approached by a number of very elderly German citizens that were around during the buildup of Hitler's power and they've all confided to him that what they're seeing in America today is eerily reminiscent of the early stages of the Nazis. Even if there's no chance of a parallel path, just the fact that those images are appearing in old Germans is a huge cause of alarm and a call to action to stop the phenomena before some event triggers the next step. With the unsound and power-hungry leadership I see today, we're a terrorist attack or economic disaster away from the type of divisiveness that can breed fascism in its most horrible form.
This isn't alarmism folks. It's history. Learn it or relive it. It's your choice.
