Thanks, I think :8~\
Though you did capture my political leanings fairly.
Look, an adult with half an IQ point shouldn't need, or want Big Brother's nose in their business unless that business is causing harm.
I find myself moving further and further from the GOP on damn near every 'point' and platform position they have. Socialy, Fiscally and Politically.
In my opinion we need the silicone mice in the walls, we need political diversity and speakers, we need a certain amount of rebelousness within the system.
That very diversity is what made American politics work evenly for a couple of centuries. While the Government has wobbled between right and left over time, all in all, it averaged out.
Today I get just a little nervous when I see the extremities of both parties shouting down those in the middle. It corrodes the center over time, moving many who would never have done so in the past to those very same extreme positions. Or worse, entirely driving them away from the process of participating and Governing.
The GOP I see today is not the same party I used to belong too. What's more, that party is grasping at any and all means can be found to keep a firm grip on the power it recieved from those such as myself.
As in the last Prez election, many times I fnd myself in the booth with the ballot wondering why I am bothering. As a rule I can't abide any choices I have. Often to the point of skipping entire sections of the ballot because I cannot force myself to vote for the choices offered.
(Wandered of the topic again, didn't we.)
