Take an African man from the ice age era and drop them in Northern Europe. See how long they last in that environment. Compare that with a European that has adapted to that environment.

Lets see, the first Europeans had to learn how to build better shelters and make better clothing that what they had as they migrated out of Africa. They also found food less plentiful. They had to learn how to hunt more efficiently. They had to understand the growing seasons.

These are problem early Europeans overcame. They learned and adapted to their new environment. Early Martians will do the same.
