I'll bet the crop circles would disappear too. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Actually, even though it originally feels right, I don't want outsiders fighting our wars for us. Smacks too much of mercenaries and history has shown how well those turn out.
When it all comes down to it, I don't want anyone fighting wars if they don't make any sense and neither do you.
Now deporting illegal aliens does feel right and not for the reasons most give. I want Mexicans fixing their own country, not putting it off by finding artificial ways to prop up their corrupt government with huge amounts of cash that flows back to Mexico. Unfortunately (and this is a lesson in the Mideast as well), cultures and addictions usually don't evolve until they hit rock bottom. Artificial methods of interference in their growth actually delay the inevitable.
As for the price of energy, there are countless other things we could do that would make a huge dent in our consumption. Simply upgrading the insulation in all houses and buildings in the country would be an incredible amount of savings in fuel and cost very little in comparison to other grand plans.
