They make Bush out to be some macho manly leader and yet we all know he wouldn't have the balls to do as I propose and yet something incredibly bold and outside the box must be done to remove this cancer we've created.
I don't have to read Tom's or Techie's posts to know what their responses are. We've seen it all before with them painting the other countries of the world as these manipulative entities only out for their own power and profit. Of course there's some truth in that but the countries themselves are made up of the same genetic material we all spring from. Humans are essentially the same the whole world over, some good, some bad.
But, we're past the logical and strategic answers to Iraq and into the emotional arena where the only thing that can shock some sense into this whole equation is to tackle this with understanding of the human psyche. So much damage has been done to our credibility that we poison the situation as long as we have our hands in it to ANY degree. The players and victims of this huge misjudment want revenge. They want atonement for the boneheaded moves and heads must roll. We would hope that they will accept figuratively over literally.
If, in our wild imaginations, my scenario of resignations ever actually occurred, I'm not proposing entering into negotiations with any other countries of the world at least for the short term. I'm saying we bail out of foreign entanglements entirely until we sort out our own mess. The job falls to EVERYONE ELSE for awhile. I'm not playing the game of naming countries responsible for cleaning up the mess. I don't care who steps in or tries to profit from the chaos. It doesn't matter. The spotlight on the next boneheaded moves turn away from our shores.
We have to make it clear that we now understand that we suck at nation building and molding and that we're pushing the young out of the nest to fly on their own or die. It's time to stop this shit now and lead only by example. It's tough love on the grand scale.
Nobody else has any solution that has any chance other than simply nuking the entire region and starting over which has its own horrific scenarios. I've read them all. They all ignore basic human nature. A wrong's been done. Us staying is like allowing the serial killer back to clean up the crime scenes he created as if that will pacify the survivors. The victims want justice and won't rest until it is delivered. Bush is the head of the beast. Nuff said.
