There were some examples of that on that blog I linked. I was just noting that the other variety was more common, and harder to detect.
It's worth noting that the examples of actual photoshopping of "news photos" had to be eventually exposed by the internet for the most part. Without that, they would have probably gone on record as is.
Sometimes, my mind boggles at what people must have gotten away with in the media before they had all these eyes on them, and a venue for issues to be broadcast other than the media itself.
