More and more I see jail time used as punishment instead of rehabilitation.
That doesn't work. Keeping a bad soul in a cell for xx years ain't going to fix the dark semen in him.
Plus, let's send a convicted felon in a prison where he/she makes friends with other felons, start organized groups and gangs, plan attacks to other inmates. How is this rehabilitating?
No. Something has gone wrong and I wait for a Correctional Reform.
Here in AZ we have this crazy sheriff, Joe Arpaio. There are alot of things that he does wrong, but some times he hits the nail right on the head.
As REB said, I also couldn't stand it if something happened to my immediate family. But also I cannot sit still when the charge with xx years a woman for putting her 6m baby in the microwave. There is a limit for everything and I don't care which God you believe in but certain people don't deserve to live. And don't give me "mental disability" crap.
Nowadays you can get inprisoned for nothing, unfairly and yet have murderers plead disability and bargain for parole.
Parole should be removed. Bonds should be removed (not the baseball player).
All premeditated murders should have death penalties. No more Life terms. The correctinal facilities should have a limit: we can fix these types of profiled felons within xx years.
If that fails, if the facility isn't at fault, then the felon should be re-evaluated for further treatment. And if all fails, step right this way, sit down on this chair and bite hard on this leather strap.
Jails are over-populated because the system doesn't work. So not only correctinal facilities need a reform but also the jurisdictional system needs to re-align to the these terms.
See it this way: they keep telling us parents "You must follow through with what you say"
So if we tell them to expect the max for DUI, GIVE THEM THE EFFING MAX!!
If we tell them this is a Death Penalty State for murderers, GIVE THEM THE EFFING DIP SENTENCE!!
If we keep giving them alternatives, then we are not teaching our "kids" what is right and what is wrong....
.. and isn't that what a law is all about?
blah I hate this shit lol
