I'm not sure how you got into this. The context of the original post was the Christian interpretation of the Old Testament. You injected Judaism, including the Old Testament, Torah and related works and interpretations

So, I didn't choose the right time to sort this issue with you. Because, accepting that I got the context wrong this time, there have been other times where you used "eye for an eye" to explain Jewish and Israeli attitudes to the Middle East. Those were not Christian contexts, and it was really an accumulation of those instances, which caused me to decide to reply in this case.

And, to clarify once more: my own motivation is not to fight perceived anti-semitism on these boards. I would sooner ignore any of that stuff if it did exist. My motivation is only to make sure that Biblical phrases and concepts are not misused and misunderstood.

Even that doesn't necessarily make me a wholesale believer in the Old Testament - it simply means that I respect it sufficiently to correct repeated misinterpreations. However, that subtle distinction seems to be too difficult for the likes of several others who bothered to add to this thread.
