Well...for starters...

...Bush ought to pick up a read the Bill Clinton playbook for the Middle East like he's finally done for North Korea.

Bill Clinton came damn close to fixing the Palestinian/Istraeli conflict. Had he not run out of time, he might have pulled it off.

When George Bush first took office, he completely abdicated on this and completely ignored the Middle East. While Arafat dealt Clinton a setback, had Bush persisted with Clinton's policies, we might have shortened the intifada and might actually have gotten closer to bringing peace to the region.

Instead Bush followed some illbegotten idea that by forcing democracy on to Iraq we could fix things. It does seem thoroughly silly in hindsight now, doesn't it?

Peace in the Middle East has always been through Jerusalem, not Baghdad.
