You are absolutely correct about this, which is precisely why Mr. Bush's failure to engage positively and affirmatively in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict has simply allowed conditions in the Middle East to fester and worsen. Last time I checked, Mr. Arafat was no longer in charge. Bush's naive obsession in Iraq meant we missed an opportunity for Jerusalem.
