re: And mine,

I have learned that predicting the future is near impossible. There is always some factor we do not see. There is always something unseen around the corner to throw a monkey wrench into your predictions.

In the 50’s, when they were predicting the year 2000, no one foresaw computer or the internet.

So who knows what technological developments will unfold.

Then there are events, like 9/11, that change everything.

And of course, natural disasters. He we are worried about global warming. But what if Yellowstone erupted and sent us into an ice age?

Luckily, we humans are cleaver and adaptable. We are good at solving problems and overcoming obstacles. We grow fat, lazy in contempt when things are going good. We seem to be at our best when things are at their worst. I have faith in us.
