Another thought on that matter.

Some years ago I worked with a retired Army sergeant who was on the Yalu River when the Chinese came across during the Korean War. He said that their attack wasn't sophisticated, they just charged.

He told me that they shot Chinese until they ran out of ammunition, and they kept coming. There was no "front", just swirling masses of people, with the Americans in a rout. Anyone who was captured on either side was executed, as there was no place to take POWs.

Now, when they have more people than you have bullets and are willing to accept those losses, it's grim.

Maybe a lesson for future times. Not necessarily in wars, but when "they" can devote more educated manpower and money to a project than can you sometimes they can do more. If "they" direct 3% of their GNP to a project and that's more money than the 1% of yours that you are willing to do, they can accomplish a lot.
