This is nothing to do with liberal politics. These people were born whilst the UK was under a government analogous to the US Republicans, their parents would have spent most of their lives under a Republican-like government. This is a point I've attempted to make to Tom many many times - the UK is currently under a Liberal government which makes his argument that all Liberals are anti-Iraq war morons so fundamentally flawed.

This isn't a politics issue - frankly for the man in the street, politics doesn't mean a damn thing. They'll see a few political broadcasts and vote for the one who 'seemed nice'. Sometimes your tax goes up a few bucks, sometimes it goes down a few bucks...90% of the people neither care nor notice.

This is a sociological issue, a media issue, and a parenting issue.
