What you say is true, and the value of the net as an information resource is not what I'm disputing. But the net is a town without a sheriff, and the information comes out as an avalanche, a waterfall of contradictions. If you are going to plunge into that flow to make sense of it, you will have to go in with certain preconceptions to help you guide your search. You've made that committment, and it is one I do not accept. I do not believe a cultural meme, unmanaged, unassisted and uncontrolled, has still managed to take over the free press of the world and restricted it to one incorrect and diabolical purpose. That reeks of anomalism and conspiracy theory to me, and is indistinguishable in principle from Grassy Knolls and UFOs and bigfoot and plasma magnetic universes, Atlantis and the rest of the nonsense the internet is also filled with, backed up by detailed and documented proof, for the cognoscenti alone, of course.
