No one suggests anyone should let someone else do his own thinking for him. The right way is to try and get news from different sources and to ty to compare and contrast, and synthesize. It is not necessary to resort to obscure and self-serving outlets to find conflict and differences of opinion. We've already disagreed on the extent of what you characterize as bias in the media, while I see plenty of variety and debate, and I feel the major problem with the media is not political bias, but commercial influence on style more than content. We're not going to resolve that conflict here. Once you have made the decision that the media cannot be trusted because it is biased in one direction, that alone is going to be a powerful selection effect in the kind of news outlets you will tend to favor.
Surely you are aware that the extreme left wing is just as convinced as you are that the MSM is ideologically dominated and controlled, but they think it's by republicans and their conservative mouthpieces and corporate lackeys. You must admit that since all media outlets are private corporations this cannot be ruled out! They find as much evidence of this as you do of the other, they are just as passionate about it as you are. If I believed that, I would be getting my news from the Daily Worker (is that even still published?), NACLA&E and Mother Jones--or perhaps by their analogues and surrogates on the internet.

We're both pretty disagreeable.
