"What makes the mainstream media so valuable, even if they're full of crap, or influenced by government or big business, or hippy dippy liberal elites, what makes them superior to the small private source is that the MSM is public. It is the unrehearsed soundtrack of this incredible movie we call history. It goes on record, it is shared, it opens itself to contradiction, it is archived, and it competes with others like itself for the public trust. It is read by everyone, and if it is outed everyone knows it and the purveyors of the lie are discredited. That's what you don't get on the net."
On the net, it "goes on the record, it is shared, it opens itself to contradiction, it is archived, and it competes with others like itself for the public trust".
Why do you imagine the net is any different?
The only vaguely correct criticism, is the net doesn't do enough original reporting, but that is being proven wrong. Do you imagine that what you write on this board will disappear?
Even if Robert didn't archive it, that is still not an assurance it's not copied and stored in various places. And as for finding this post, in say 30 years from now- you don't think Google or some other megabillion company won't provide that service?
No, the problem would be if you don't want this data stored and accessible for future by anyone in about 10 sec or less from anywhere on the planet.
