This is one of the main reasons why I oppose multi-cultural/multi-ethnic societies. It adds unneeded complexity and conflict into the fabric of a civilization. Think of how many laws are passed, regulations put into place, money spent, and resources wasted all in the name of "diversity". We have school boards more concerned with teaching children "tolerance" than with teaching them reading, math, science, and how their government works. We have various ethnic and racial groups screaming at the top of their collective lungs for government's attention and resources. What's best for "the community" trumps all other concerns. This balkanization leads to conflict, gridlock, and eventually collapse. The less stress and friction a society has, the more happy and stable it is.
Our Constitution says that one of the main functions of government is to insure domestic tranquility. Diversity is antagonistic to tranquility.
