The lenghts that lady was told to go to were ridiculous.

yes, and so were the lengths she actually went to. How many of us would have asked for a 2nd opinion after hearing that or simply just cleaned it up ourself using some precaution and common sense? I'm guessing most of us. The lengths she went to are as abnormal as the instructions she was given.
