As for your faith that talking to Sadr and the leaders of Iran and Syria would work: the results of this course are already self-evident, as I pointed out in my post. To refresh your memory on one case, we spent almost two years dealing with Sadr as a politician. Unfortunately, Sadr and his handlers in Iran have other plans for Iraq that don't involve an independent nation.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party, which seems to be listening to a different drummer than they proclaim to be, is readying another puss proposal. This is going to go over really well with their base.
