The generals have said they're fighting a holding action. Awaiting a political solution.

And there ain't no political solution in the works. Bush doesn't like the people who are necessary for any solution. So he shows them - he let's them beat the shit out of him. And us. And the Iraqis. People are dying because Bush would rather demonize than negotiate with folks with one heckuva lot more of a legitimate interest in the area than George W. Bush.

The generals can't win it. They say so. They say there HAS TO BE PROGRESS on a diplomatic and political front. And there aren't even any efforts. People still are saying, "Just Kill 'Em". Don't negotiate, don't involve 'em in the process, "Just Kill 'Em".

Which hasn't worked.

Explain why things are so much worse now than when Bush proclaimed "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" and the generals say we can't win with just the military, and the US is "winning"? How are we "winning". After all, it's all GOOD NEWS.

I'd like to hear that. I really would.
