Actually, his post wasn't completely inappropriate. He is certainly partially correct. And partly wrong.

It wasn't responsive to the original post. No one asked about addiction, they asked about the drug. And then RL took it upon himself to generalize, somewhat correctly it turns out, from a sample of one for a relatively brief experiencw for a relatively minor problem. (Just kidding, RL. I'm sure it was devastating!)

It's a bit as if someone asked about lasers for pointing at items from a distance and he responded. And then I said that I'd looked into one and didn't go blind, blindness wasn't a real issue for a real man, and that if he knew anything about lasers he would had known that.

When blindness wasn't part of the issue.

Nope. I wouldn't say he couldn't post on it, though he has been banned in the past and never left. (His comment re Smyth is precious!) I don't think, myself, that he adds much to the boards, but then I very, very rarely read him. Some folks do, though, and enjoy him, so I wouldn't change matters. Didn't suggest it, as a matter of fact. Anything on the board is fair game, and one would hope it wouldn't fatuous and irrelevant.
