Polar orbit?

The best orbit for use as a springboard to the solar system would be parallel with the ecplitic. The original space station design was to have an orbit of 28.5 degrees. Not only was this orbit the same latitude as Kennedy Space Center, but it was far closer to the ecliptic than the 51.6 degree orbit of the ISS. A polar orbit is only good for surveying the Earth.
