A near future manned Chinese mission will have an "accident" and
require docking to the ISS for a rescue and repair. Once aboard,
the Chinese taikonauts will easily trick the trusting astronauts and
repogram the station's computers to create a serious malfunction
to force the crews to abandon ship and return to Earth. Or they'll
just start a fire.
Either way, once the American/European team is gone, the Chinese
will claim the station for themselves, citing squatter's rights. Months
of useless diplomatic complaining and empty threats will ensue, giving
the Chinese plenty of time to permanently establish themselves and
their secret cache of nuclear missiles aboard the ISS, now renamed
the Great Shining Path of Mao. Now free to dominate the galaxy,
the Chinese can at least begin to build their lunar and Mars bases....
