Fallujah. "The city grew from a small town in 1947 to a pre-war population of about 350,000 inhabitants in 2003."
"The war has reportedly damaged 60% of the city's buildings, with 20% totally destroyed including 60 of the city's mosques."
You want to do more. Would you nuke it, and all 350,000 people? Would you maybe build a berm around it, prevent anyone from leaving and bomb it to smithereens? What about women, children, the elderly, the people yearning for freedom, democracy, the quiet sleep which can come when foreign troops aren't shelling and strafing your town?
What about them? You want to copy Hitler, only on a grander scale? Instead of Ravensbrook and Gneisenau, there's Abu Ghraib and lots of places in Eastern Europe.
"In one of the most infamous single acts of World War Two, all 172 men and boys over age 16 in the village (Lidice) were shot on June 10, 1942, while the women were deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp where most died. Ninety young children were sent to the concentration camp at Gneisenau, with some taken later to Nazi orphanages if they were German looking.
"The village of Lidice was then destroyed building by building with explosives, then completely leveled until not a trace remained, with grain being planted over the flattened soil."
Hitler "made an example" of this town. That's what you are suggesting, my friend, though if you bother to reply to this you will deny it.
Arf (What about "hearts and minds", Bow? They have neither.)

Please clarify - "- - - if Fallujah had been made an example the first time." Like Lidice.
